At Percolate Peace, we believe peace is personal. It starts within and ripples outward—one person, one choice, one moment at a time. In The Peace Guidebook, actor, writer, and producer Michael McGlone shares a moving story about faith, trust, and living with acceptance and gratitude. His words remind us that peace is not the absence of life’s challenges, but the way we meet them—with grace, love, and hope.
What does “peace” mean to you personally?
“Peace is acceptance and gratitude, revelry in this life that is both joyful and painful, knowing that only through positive full experience of both are we able to love and evolve as fully as we are meant to.”
For Michael, peace isn’t passive. It’s an active choice to embrace life’s full spectrum—the celebrations and the struggles—with open arms.
What is one way you actively practice peace in your daily life?
“Prayer. Humble expression of thanks and love to the Lord, enhanced by my expression of whole-hearted trust in the Lord.”
Each day, Michael grounds himself in gratitude through prayer, centering his mind and spirit in trust.
Your story in The Peace Guidebook touches on faith. Why was it important for you to share that experience?
“Sharing this is important to me, because it is based in the fundamental necessity of trust in the positive, embrace of not only the ‘idea’ but the reality that you are loved and the beauty and freedom and power of accepting that love… My faith is not guided by dogma or affiliation—it’s guided by an individual, personal experience and relationship with the Lord, who loves and guides and helps me understand how I can be of the greatest service.”
For Michael, faith is deeply personal, untethered to institutions, and anchored in lived experience.
What advice would you give someone who feels peace is impossible right now?
“Ask yourself why you believe that. Then ask yourself if you truly believe that. Ask yourself if you truly believe you lack the ability to invite acceptance and gratitude and love into your heart sufficient that you can know you are loved and can experience pain and conflict with grace, you can revel fully in joy, you can let go of beliefs that stop you from engaging life in full positivity and power. Everyone has these abilities, it is a matter of accepting that living in full expression of them requires deep commitment to meeting challenges that many people simply wish didn't exist. Positive acceptance of all that is presented in our lives is not only peace-giving, it finally results in tremendous satisfaction and greater power to help others.
Michael challenges us to dig deeper into our beliefs about peace and recognize our own agency in cultivating it.
What’s one small action anyone can take today to leave their Peace Print in the world?
“Think positively, challenge yourself to see and effectuate positivity in the situation(s) you are in... and when you are walking on the street sometime, smile at someone.”
Sometimes, peace begins with something as simple as a smile.
If you could pass peace to one person, group, or place in the world today, who would it be—and why?
“Anyone and everyone who doubts that this world and life are beautiful gifts meant for us to share through vigorous commitment to love, understanding of one another, and positive creative, intellectual, and spiritual development.”
